My Daughter loves it here and no matter how often we go I am always captivated by the deer. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful even when it is busy and wonderfully maintained, this is one of the best national trust locations. Really great value for money too. If you decide not to go in the house then all you pay for is the parking.
Large gardens and deer park for all the family to enjoy with plenty of paths for a walk. You need to get a ticket from the visitor centre to get into the house even if you are a N.T. member ( but it's free) and the house is full of volunteers who happily give you further information about its history and the people who lived there. Plenty of good quality facilities and the ice cream is delicious, even worth waiting for on a hot day and a rather long queue. Close to Manchester it means it's not a place for solitude. If you get the chance go and visit the working mill although it's not always open, but we were lucky. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful large house filled with loads of fab history. Large car park good café and toilet facilities. You can take the kids on the playground, and your dog. Excellent gardens and you get a map. Plenty to explore inside and out, wheelchair friendly. We spent all day there in good weather. Bit pricey for tickets but actually worth it. Lovely helpful staff clued up on the history.
Beautiful place, very large park suitable for enjoyable walks, whatever the weather ! Ample car park, £7 parking fee for cars, however if you are a National Trust member it's free. So many deer walking around, it's absolutely fascinating and incredibly enjoyable watching them being relaxed and walking from one place to another. The cafe has beautiful views - will make sure to check out the gardens and the house next time as this time we only stayed around 1.5 hours. Would definitely recommend !

Please like or mark as helpful. Lovely gardens with pond. Great for short walks in a pleasant environment. Parking very limited but then it's never too busy (let's hope not too many people read the glowing reviews😉)
Lovely quiet gardens. Make sure you go behind the buildings as there are more gardens

Amazing Xmas light show and lovely Xmas dinner. A great place the whole year round. Dunham Massey’s deer park covers an area of 192.7 acres and features formal avenues, woodland and parkland. Its pasture-woodland is occupied by a herd of fallow deer that have been resident in the park for hundreds of years. Part of the Dunham Massey Estate, the park also has a magnificent collection of ancient trees. Many of the giant oak trees dating back as far as the 17th century, a true rarity in Britain today. As such, it is considered a site of national importance.
Absolutely recommend, beautiful gardens and acres of land to walk around and enjoy spotting deer. They allow picnics and in the summer its great. The house is good but not as architecturally interesting as others however still worth a trip
